Real Property:

Residential Homestead & Over 65 Exemption

Additional information required for Residential Homestead & Over 65 Exemption:

In order to qualify for this exemption, you have to actually occupy the home as your principal residence and homestead and would have to reside in the home as of January 1st of that year in which application is made.

 Please make sure to fill the form out completely.  We will also need the following information attached to the form.  Without the information the application will be considered incomplete and the exemption will be denied.

Copy of Driver’s License for the owner or owner’s of the property

Copy of the Mobile Home Title or Statement of Ownership & Location (if you live in a mobile home) Refer to House Bill 1460

Copy of Tax Ceiling Certificate (if you are over 65 and are moving from another county)

If the application contains an out of county mailing address we will need a brief explanation for the address. (Example business, medical, ECT.)

Disabled Veteran Exemption

Additional information required for Disabled Person's Exemption:

If you are applying for a Disabled Person’s Exemption to qualify, you must meet the Social Security definition for disabled. You qualify if you receive disability benefits under the federal Old Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance Program administered by the Social Security Administration. To prove your eligibility, you will need to provide the appraisal district with information on disability ratings from the civil service, retirement programs, or from insurance documents, military records, or a doctor's statement.
